ABOUT CAMP SAINTE
Camp Sainte is a small camp for two, tucked away in the corners of the Norfolk Broads countryside. This POP UP camp offers a seriously quiet and peaceful retreat for two under the gaze of St. Mary's Church, Hickling. Available to enjoy throughout July and August, it is an idyllic retreat to come back to after a day exploring this unique wetland landscape, we like to call home.
THE GARDEN SPACE
Tucked away under the watchful eye of our village church, where the village ends and the wild fields and big skies abound, you will find a secret garden corner, where you can enjoy sleeping under canvas in your very own canvas Touareg Tent. Enjoy a completely private and secluded stay in your very own English country garden. Your camp comes with a fully equipped quirky outdoor kitchen and bathroom with a hot shower and running water.
AVAILABLE TO HIRE THROUGHOUT JULY & AUGUST
THE CAMP
Your camp is in a secluded corner of my garden, away from the house and with complete privacy. You have your own track to access the camp and will not be disturbed in anyway (unless you need assistance with anything, then i'm on hand to help).
Your roomy tented bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed and all the comforts of home, with plenty of blankets and hot water bottles to keep you cosy inside, when those UK nights get chilly.
The camp has a private kitchen hut which has been equipped with all the cooking facilities you will need plus a gas stove and running water + we provide a coolbox for your stay too.
Inside your quirky outdoor hut we have also provided a unique bathroom, designed with a rustic feel encompassing entirely upcycled materials. You'll find a whisky barrel shower with gorgeous HOT running water, a loo with views to envy plus a sink and running water. This is a completely private space and offers a true chance to light the firepit, sit back, gaze out and connect with nature. Unplug for a while whilst enjoying a stunning view in this wildlife rich Broadland landscape.
HICKLING
The village of Hickling is a sprawling village in the Norfolk Broads National Park. Home to the largest of the Norfolk Broads it also competes as being one of the 'wildest' making the area a haven for wildlife. Surrounded by open countryside with a myriad of footpaths, its offers an idyllic slice of 'getting away from it all'. The village is home to the NWT Hickling Nature Reserve for wildlife spotting (including the rare Swallowtail butterfly that calls this village home), Norfolk Outdoor Adventures for paddle boarding and kayak hire and instruction as well as Whispering Reeds boatyard for a spot of sail or day boat hire. The area is notoriously flat, so perfect for exploring on two wheels and the village is only 3 miles from the expansive sands of Sea Palling and Waxham beaches.
For nights when you're not in the mood for cooking 'The Greyhound,' village pub is a great spot to enjoy a pint and great food (less than a mile stroll from the camp), a woodfired pizza van arrives for the summer and can be found on most weekends serving delicious slices next to the Broad - if however you fancy something more decadent - fine dining can be enjoyed two miles away at the Ingham Swan.
